IRMM-524 consists of iron with a nominal purity of >=99.996 %. The isotopic abundances correspond to the natural composition. Manganese and cobalt, present as impurities and causing interference during application, are certified. The material is available as 0.5 mm diameter wire (1 m units) and 0.1 mm thick foil (100 cm2 units). This Certified Reference Material is intended to be used in neutron metrology to monitor fast neutron fluence rates and fluences. The nuclide of interest is 54Fe.
